Chris Borich ended the 2008 GNCC season on a winning note with a victory at the Klotz Ironman. Maxxis took nine of the top ten and Traci Cecco locked up the GNCC women’s title at the race, held October 25-26 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Justin Pawlak took third place in the final round of this year’s Formula Drift series, securing his place as a seeded driver for 2009. Pawlak’s performance also qualified him for the Formula Drift World Finals, scheduled for November 15-16 in his hometown of Long Beach, California.

Maxxis’ Bobby Bonds is the 2008 WORCS champion, securing his title with a win in the season’s last race. In addition to his victory at the season finale, the privateer racked up six second place finishes throughout the year.

Maintaining another winning partnership, Maxxis will be title sponsor of the Xtreme Rock Racing series for a second year. Covered extensively on cable’s SPEED network, the Maxxis XRRA’s schedule begins in March with the western division opener, followed by the eastern division kick-off in April. U.S. finals are slated for September. The series also has international reach, with the German Championship running from April through October.

Maxxis, maker of the world’s best tire for desert racing, has locked in its status as Official Tire of Best in the Desert with a new three-year deal.

Maxxis was named Pro Lite Tire Manufacturer of the Year by the Championship Off Road Racing series. The award was presented November 5 at the organization’s annual banquet in Primm, Nevada.
